How Do You Sustain the Value of a Great Speaker’s Message?

In a word: Video.

No, it’s not perfect.  You can’t capture all the passion and energy you feel in a room when a truly great speaker is on fire and has the audience hanging on every word.  That’s why we have conferences and events, and why we spend time, money and effort gathering in the first place, because of that transcendent moment during a keynote address when you ‘get it’.  Something clicks and the inner logic or wisdom of what they are saying changes the way you look at your life, your business, your daily challenges.  Some call it an ‘Ah-Ha’ moment.  For others it doesn’t register until you find yourself working things you heard in the speech into conversations with peers, clients, sometimes even family members.

But what about 2 weeks later?  2 months later?  How do you refresh and revive that feeling you had when a speaker of substance (not just a rah-rah cheerleader) said something that had so much meaning?  If it was true then, is it any less true now?  What happened to the conviction behind those promises you made to change the way you do business because at the time what they (more…)
